8 Questions for Nick and Anne

The Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour is an annual road race held in Cape Town that is usually 109km long. With as many as 35 000 cyclists taking part, this is the world’s largest individually timed cycle race.

Nick Kadima and Anne Coste are two individuals who will be cycling in pink for Good Work Foundation (GWF). Here’s what Anne had to say:

1.      Where are you from and where do you live now?

We are both living in Johannesburg. Nick is from Congo DRC and I am from France. We’ve been living in South Africa for a few years now.

2.      Is this your first Argus?

This is Nick’s second Argus, and he loved the first one. It is my first Argus and I’m both nervous and excited.

3.      What training have you been doing and have you changed your diet?

Our philosophy is just to remain fit. We’ve been running, swimming, spinning, cycling and, to stretch it out, we’ve been doing some yoga. Regarding the diet, we try to eat healthy regularly – balanced meals, no special diet per se.

4.      Have you been involved in a sports event for a charity before?

We have taken part in events for charity and yes, charity is a huge motivator.

5.      Why did you decide to ride Argus for Good Work Foundation? Is education important to you?

GWF’s values are the reason we made the choice to ride for this particular cause. We believe in education as a driving force for a real change in South African society. We also believe in the medium utilised by GWF to spread knowledge: the application of information technology. This will ultimately contribute to a very great extent towards narrowing the digital divide.

6.      If you could give young South Africans some “life” advice, what would it be?

Never stop learning.

7.      Who is your South African role model and why?

Mahatma Gandhi –  inspire individuals to be the change that they want to see in the world.

8.      How do you feel about riding in pink?

Love it… love it… love it.
