Farewell Accolade Ubisi

Today we say goodbye to our Storyteller-Extraordinaire, Accolade Ubisi.

Accolade’s partner recently applied for a job at the brand-new Silvan Lodge in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve. The job would mean that he would work away from Accolade and their son, Fez, on six-week shifts. Not wanting to compromise family, Accolade made the decision to apply for a position at the same lodge and we are very happy to announce that both Accolade and her partner have been successful in their applications.

We are also excited to share that Silvan Lodge is owned and managed by Rhino Africa, one of GWF’s long-time partners. So while we will lose Accolade as a member of our team, we certainly won’t lose her as a member of our extended family.

We thank Accolade for her invaluable contribution to the mission and vision of our organisation. We all know that Accolade’s passion for GWF has translated into storytelling that is captivating and inspiring.

Accolade’s ability to communicate the impact that GWF continues to have has led to more effective fundraising and stronger partnerships.

I said to our team on Friday that Accolade “can talk.” But I also said “luckily that’s part of her job.”

It has been a pleasure to work alongside this sparkling, vivacious, creative and spirited young woman. Thank you Accolade for being a remarkable ambassador.

Accolade remains an honorary pink (magenta) member of the family and we wish her every success into the future.
