GWF Week in Edu-Tweets #12

1. From GWF Communications and Media Manager Ryan James, sharing the most recent photo of the development in Justicia Digital Learning Campus (JDLC), which will be launched in early January 2016. JDLC takes the number of GWF’s Digital campuses to five! This campus is right in the middle of a rural village and will give access to world class education to thousands of rural Mpumalanga commuters from 2016.


2. The Wielie Walie Preschool was the first preschool to root the grounds of the small Karoo town Philippolis ten years ago. GWF CEO¬†Kate Groch with a lot of help from Philippolis community members and guests build the preschool with the guidance of a ‘building for dummies’ guide book successfully. Most of the members who laid the bricks were back to shift them back in place ten years later.


3. It has become a tradition that at every GWF morning meeting at the Hazyview campus, a selected staff member delivers a quote of wisdom or motivation to help all start the day with positive energy and thoughts. GWF Media intern Mpho Lebyane shared Head of Open Learning Crispen Bvumbghe’s quote, which represents so much of his personality.


4. From GWF CEO Kate Groch who watched one of the youngest members of Open Learning in Philippolis figure his way around a tablet, on his own.


5. From Head of Conservation Academy Byron Ross who took Hossana Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) to the Kruger Park as part of conservation for the first time. Conservation literacy has become the new equation at Haazyview Digital Learning Campus, engaging learners with nature conservation education.


6. From GWF CEO Kate Groch who fears being overthrown by the digital future leaders GWF has been grooming under Open Learning since 2012. This photo was taken by Kate Groch at a GWF Christmas video shoot under the tree.


7. GWF CEO of the gardens Isaac celebrated his birthday with lots of love from the family, who spoiled him with some cake and drinks. if you have been to the Hazyview campus, you will agree that for the hard work that he does in the up-keeping the the environment around this space, he deserves every crumb of the cake and drop of the drink. The birthday fairy Amukelani Nzobe was there to capture the moment.


8. GWF Mathemagician and Open Learning facilitator welcomes the blue robot friends into the Open Learning program at GWF. Robots and coding will be incorporated as part of Open Learning+ in 2016.
