Meet Alvisha Padda, an Open Learning Champion in Philippolis

Meet Alvisha Padda, who has been attending the Open Learning Academy English and digital classes at Philippolis Digital Learning Campus (PDLC) since June 2014. Alvisha is a spirited, full of energy and fun person who loves doing anything that involves using a computer or a tablet. And she also does not mind if the camera is snapping away in her presence. Here is a little Q&A:

What have you learnt since you started to come to Open Learning Academy?

I know how to search for my favourite stories on the tablet and I love playing the Farm heroes saga game, and I have reached level 45 by myself.

What is your favourite thing to do when you get to Open Learning?

I love being at Open Learning because after school I usually don’t have anything to do at home, so I get to play with my friends and learn how to use a tablet.

What would you tell other children about being part of the Open Learning?

I would tell them to come have fun. I am only 10 years old but I now know my way around a computer, by next year, I will be able to do lots of stuff on the tablets and computers without any assistance.

What would you like to improve before you get to grade 5?

I really want to learn how to speak English properly so that I do not struggle when I get to high school.

What is your favourite story from the ones you have read so far, and what do you like about it?

I like all the stories, but the Cinderella stories are the best, because the Princess has so many beautiful dresses that I like and I also love a story with a happy ending.

Alvisha Padda hopes to improve her English by the time she gets to high school.
