Student of the Week: Olwethu Fandileki

Tfolinhlanhla Primary School grade seven student, Olwethu Fandileki, has won a bursary to a nationally-acclaimed and celebrated private school in White River.

Tfolinhlanhla Primary School is located in Shabalala village, close to Good Work Foundation’s Hazyview Digital Learning Centre (HDLC), and in 2013 an agreement was made between our two centres of education whereby HDLC would provide digital literacy education to Tfolinhlanhla Primary School students.

Good Work Foundation provides the facilities (teacher training, tablets, computers, digital white boards, stationery, etc.), the tuition, the “digital mentorship” as well as the transport from Tfolinhlanhla to HDLC every week.

Olwethu – who has been attending digital literacy lessons at HDLC after normal school hours – is over-the-moon.

“I am looking forward to studying hard towards my dream of becoming a pilot.”

Olwethu, we are so proud. Tfolinlhlanhla Primary School – under the guidance of Principal Sambo – is helping to create stars. Well done for being brave enough to apply. Well done for believing in yourself. And well done on all of your hard work!
