The Most Rural Future Publisher Comes from Mpumalanga

Delight Mabunda is a 25 year old woman from rural Shabalala, who attended Gezi Nqhondo Secondary School where she matriculated. Delight is the eldest child of two siblings.

Delight is a woman who has almost done it all; she studied for a certificate in Psychology and Human Resource Management at Damelin. She has also worked as a financial consultant in retail merchandise for almost three years.

In 2015, after losing her job, Delight heard about Good Work Foundation’s (GWF) Hazyview Digital Learning Campus (HDLC) and registered as an Absa Bridging Academy student in 2016. “I came here because it was such an amazing opportunity to acquire more skills and meet new friends.” Delight believes that if nothing is happening for you, then make something happen.

Delight Mabunda is very talkative, ambitious, outgoing and has no intention of failing. In the next few years Delight sees herself becoming a well-known writer with her own publishing company and this is a dream she is willing to work hard for to make come to life.

In addition to all of this Delight also wants to do motivational speaking, to be a traveler and have all the friends she can keep.

“My family’s support is the most important thing that motivates me.” Delight’s dreams and visions make her the person she is and the person she wants to be. Delight is hopeful and believes that when she achieves her dreams her bright future will impact the lives of youth in her community.

She wants to have a company that will be a platform for information because in our rural communities most people lack information, and to build a recreation centre that will accommodate everyone in the community.

“They say that the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world actually do.”  Delight is a youth leader in her community ministry and she is doing a great job. She has a dance crew that aims to prevent the youth from drugs and other bad influences.

Delight is certainly an amazing multitasking woman with dreams and ambitions to change the state of poverty in rural communities.
