GWF’s passion for digital storytelling and stakeholder communications was recently recognised at the 2025 WesBank New Generation Awards, where our Reimagining Rural Education online newsletter took home three awards. We scooped a further three awards for content marketing at the PRISM Awards – demonstrating that good news, creatively told, still resonates in today's world.
The annual New Generation Awards are among South Africa’s most prestigious accolades in the digital marketing space. They reward brands and agencies that push the boundaries of creativity, innovation and social impact through digital and social media – and GWF is up there with the best!
Equally, the Public Relations Institute of Southern Africa’s 2025 PRISM Awards set the bar high for excellence. Judges assess public relations and communications campaigns for their strategic, creative and professional execution, leading to measurable results.

Both of these awards celebrate communications and marketing excellence in a fiercely competitive environment, where non-profit organisations such as ours compete for recognition with some of the country’s largest corporate players – from retail powerhouses to telecommunications giants. Scooping four silvers and two bronzes in such a highly competitive field is an achievement to be proud of!

These awards also highlight the effectiveness of digital tools such as email newsletters in drawing attention to important social issues.
GWF CEO Kate Groch is over the moon with the recognition. “Such wonderful news that the work we have done together with Flow has been awarded three New Generation Awards and three PRISM Awards!” she says. “Congratulations to Flow and the wonderful team there. We love working with such a passionate and like-minded partner!”
Adds GWF Head of Development Gemma Thompson, “Each month, our newsletter is a chance to share the magic, joy and impact that our team is having on the lives of young people. We love working on this with Flow, and are so appreciative of their partnership in telling the stories that matter most. We’re thrilled that the NewGen Awards and PRISMs have seen the light in our content marketing work, and we can’t wait to share our stories with many more people!”
