This February GWF team members celebrated the month of love in a heart-warming way, by showing “lerato/uthando” (love) to their colleagues and the young people they work with.
On Valentine’s Day GWF’s campuses were awash with red, white and pink as staff embraced the spirit of the day and dressed in vibrant outfits. Lessons and daily tasks were traded for fun and laughter as all engaged in a variety of activities, capturing the day’s moments with Valentine’s selfie frames.
The highlight of the day was the performance by an impromptu staff band singing popular love songs, including Davido’s chart-topping hit If.
While Valentines Day often embraces a traditional type of romantic love, for us at GWF, it goes beyond that. It is an opportunity to acknowledge the people within our professional community. It's a time for showing those we work with just how much we appreciate their dedication and hard work. This day is about recognising the caring hearts and compassionate spirit that they bring to the workplace every day to not only improve the lives of the young people we serve but also enrich our collective work culture.
