Lillydale Digital Learning Campus
Although the Lillydale Digital Learning Campus opened in 2018, as Good Work Foundation's fourth campus in Mpumalanga, the GWF story in the village had begun long before that.
History
When the organisation was still in its infancy, GWF pioneers GWF pioneers Kate Groch, Gogo Mo (Maureen Groch) and Linky Nkuna would often go and conduct workshops with children in Lillydale village next to the Sabi Sands Game Reserve.
Situated next to Hlomani High School in the village of Lillydale in Bushbuckridge, the digital learning can already tell a million stories and has touched many lives.
The campus serves Lillydale and its surrounding communities, whose young residents enjoy coming to campus and being motivated by the Lillydale Campus’s bright, creative spaces and young, passionate and dedicated employees, many of whom are themselves graduates of one of the GWF programmes.
Lillydale Campus offers an Open Learning Academy programme to more than 700 learners, boosting their English, Mathematics and digital literacy skills, and sees about 70 students graduating from its Bridging Year Academy for young school-leavers annually.
